Trump has reportedly instructed federal agencies to prepare to MASS fire employees if there is a government shutdown.

Basically, he is claiming that he doesn’t want a government shutdown while planning to massively fire people if we do have a government shut down.

PS This was in Project 2025.

So they had to rehire back all the Fork in the Road people, but they still want to get rid of them – so they are going to force a shutdown, fire loads of people, and then blame the Democrats as the reason for the shutdown and the firings. That way they get to fire loads of people but claim it’s not their fault.

For a country that boasts 2nd amendment rights and school shootings, when the fuck is the US going to take a page out of Nepal and France’s playbook? Like seriously what the fuck do you have left to lose

    3. This. Was. The. Plan. All. Along.

Oligarchs are positively giddy about tearing the government into chunks and privatizing any part they can.

Losing your jobs due to this incompetent clown is going to be completely your own faults. Getting ready for all the MAGA winning coming up soon, you gullible fools.

    5. … which in normal society would be completely illegal but we are not being normal.

Three idiotic points about this though:

      * Furloughed workers have requirements on them (yes they can get partial unemployment) but they are also mandated to return. Their healthcare etc. doesnt change

      * Fired workers get full unemployment and in some states other protections, benifits etc. and of course the super expensive COBRA coverage options.

      * Fired workers assume they arent coming back and go elsewhere. You will have issues getting them to return.

Look at the shitshow they have going on right now with rehiring after DOGE. Do they not learn? (No need to answer, their attitude to my head hurts after hitting it seems to be “if I hit it harder maybe it will hurt less”).

    6. I can’t be the only one that finds it amusing that all the same people saying shut it all down are now saying what a bad thing it is, and all the people that were saying how bad it was to shutdown are now saying shut er down.

Out of curiosity where is this in Project 2025? Reduction in Federal Government is but is this in there specifically? Not saying it’s not but its large and I would rather not have to search the whole thing

    8. I know an agency that got 125 billion that they can raid the purse of to pay for social security and Medicare for a few months!

    10. They have the majority in the house and senate. If they shut it down, it’s the Republicans doing it. Let’s see if the so-called media reports it that way?

    11. Good since they have already purged anyone who hasn’t pledged an oath to dear leader or has a brain…

Just another step in the total destruction of America’s democracy. Once you LOSE your job, you LOSE your house, your car, and then YOU are on the street, homeless. Then you are a casualty of Trump’s FASCIST desires. Better convince Congress that if YOU lose YOUR job, they will LOSE theirs, because THEY can put a stop to ALL this MADNESS.

    13. So does that mean in 3 months they are going to scramble to rehire all the people they fired?

It what happened with the DOGE firing.

    14. They’ve tried to get us used to shutdowns so this escalation shouldn’t really be a surprise.

The projection is so obvious in hindsight.

    15. The White House is a few months behind their plan from a few months ago to fire a ton of workers. This is happening regardless.

    16. I’m still waiting for America to be great again. Meanwhile I might have to resort to sucking dick to put food on the table and pay my rent while this asshole shits and pisses himself and gets paid for incontinence. Also incompetence.

A shutdown implies that the government was working up to this point. I’m calling bullshit.

    18. Crazy to act like this doesn’t happen multiple times a year almost every year regardless of who’s in office lol

    19. I am rooting for the shutdown because it will limit the further damage the Trump regime will inflict on the country.

    20. It’s crazy to think that growing up I thought a government job would be one of the safest, most stable jobs.
