    1. I was five years old when my parents took me to see him speak in St. Helens, OR, in 1967.

      My dad always marveled at how he promised to fix the crappy highway between Portland and St. Helens if elected.

      The road got fixed anyway, after he complained!

      Impossible to even imagine today.

      The Democratic Party has been running on fumes since the mid-1960s.
