So in theory ancient egypt doesnt end, as in another 1000 years they will say the same about our time period

This isnt so suprising. The archeologiest in europe also research the last hundres years of europe.

    3. Fun fact, Cleopatra lived closer in time to the Moon landing than to the building of the Great Pyramid of Giza.

[Credit](https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Arkofthecovenantatkingtutstomb.jpg) to the photographer, Harry Burton, who took this in 1922. He photographed the opening of the Tomb of Tutanhkamun in the Egyptian Valley of Kings by Howard Carter and Lord Carnarvon in 1922. Burton was regarded to be the outstanding archaeological photographer of his era. Many of Burton’s photographs are in the archives of the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

    6. The game Assassins Creed Origins gives players a sense of scale with ancient Egypt. You play as a character set in the Egyptian Roman period and when you encounter the pyramids they are already in a state of ruin and abandonment. The realization the pyramids were built some 2500 years before the events of the game is mind blowing.

    7. I was going to make a facetious remark about grave robbery, but then I realised that maybe the wholesale tomb pillaging that went on to the annoyance of modern archaeologists was actually only ancient archaeology spread over a very long period of time.

    8. Feel like this is an untapped era in history for some really good television. My only real perception of Egypt from media is The Mummy, but imagine a GOT or Foundation type show set in ancient Egypt
