I had a senior (high school) trip to Europe, one of the girls in my group, a tiny redhead, was sitting next to me at the Irish pub we were at. Since we were all 18ish we could drink so I ordered a guinness, however i discovered my complete disgust of beer (still hate it to this day, love vodka, bourbon, and a few others) that day, too. Anyways, redhead asked if she could finish the tall glass of beer i had taken less than an inch off, I said yes. I then watched this 18 y.o. girl consume 1/10 of her body weight in beer in less than 10 seconds. 🤣

Meanwhile in Belgium parents literally throw a beer party for a kid’s 16th birthday
In Belgium you can drink soft alcohol (beer and wine) from 16. You can even go alone to pub at 16 and have a pint
And at 18 you can drink hard alcohol, so rum, whiskey, liquors etc
And to top it all off you can go to a restaurant at 14 with your parents and have wine and no one bats an eye, they’d call the police for that in USA 🤣
