idk i think this one is too generic and kinda bad advice, i think it’s better to involve those in your life in what you care about

I’ve seen Dr K on YouTube explain this one. The psychological aspect of this phenomenon is that when you tell friends and family what you’re doing you spend some of the motivation you should have used for your goals. And what’s even more detrimental is if you have supportive friends and family that preemptively give you kudos for pursuing your goals. The mind takes the affirmations and is satisfied by it, further draining your motivation. It’s counterintuitive but there are a lot of success stories that started with with “people said I could never pull this off”
