Immediately thought of Because of Winn-Dixie so I had to google if the dog from the book was named after a grocery store. I haven’t read it since I was in single digits but apparently that’s explained in the book. Super weird how we lose things like that because I remember reading the book but I can’t for the life of me remember learning why that was the dogs name and it being a grocery store chain that actually exists.

I had my first nightmare grocery experience at a Winn-Dixie in Florida. They had run those places into the ground by the end of the 90s.
