    1. Horace Lawson Hunley was responsible for bankrolling the construction of submarines for the Confederates during the U.S. civil war, including the *Pioneer* (which was scuttled and abandoned), the *American Diver* (which sank into the Mobile Bay), and the *H.L. Hunley*, also known as the *CSS Hunley* (Which sank into the Mobile Bay, was retrieved, then sent to Charleston, SC where it blew up one ship, and sank along with it). 2. What gets me is how they kept convincing sailors to man a submarine that had a 100% fatality rate (really 300% by the end)

One time it sunk because somebody stepped on the “sink” lever while the hatch was open. So you might say it was a success of sorts

    4. 1860 – 1939 was a extremely weird time, the japenese fighting with muskets, swords, revolvers, and europe fighting with tanks, horses, muskets, powered ships, and machine guns
