The Huiluo Granary in Luoyang, China, was established during the reign of Yang of Sui (569-618 CE) and had 700 storage pits, each of which can store 250,000 kg of grain and the entire granary can store 175 million kg of grain. Each pit is about 10 m in diameter and 7 to 9 m in depth [1269×1505]
