    1. Just discovered something pretty cool! I have a night vision camera in my kitchen and noticed that at night, I can see all the internal coils and components of my induction cooktop through what should be the black ceramic surface. During the day it looks completely normal and opaque.

Yeah, some “dark” materials are transparent to IR light, same for human skin(with low melanine, melanin absorbs IR ligh). The IR world is so fascinating, we cannot see this….

    3. No stick your Mrs in front of it with a white cotton top on. Don’t post the picture but do giggle when you realise.

    4. The glass is Corning Robax IRtran 750 heat resistant glass ceramic. It passes 750 to 1550nm light well so to the eye it is deep red/black but clear to infrared the camera sees. The glass is also extremely low expansion too.

    5. May I ask how much it was to get the wiring installed? I want to swap from gas to induction

I thought this was a video and stared at it for longer than I’d care to admit, waiting for something to happen.
