At 37 m the Roskilde 6 wreck, excavated in 1996-1997, is the longest preserved longship dating to the Viking Age. It was made from Norwegian oak felled in AD 1025 and was presumably built right after.

Recently on display at the National Museum in Copenhagen, Denmark, the original planks were showcased in a large, steel frame which showed the original shape and size of the ship.

It was a ship designed for warfare similar to the Skuldelev 2 ship (reconstructed as Havhingsten fra Glendalough), also from Roskilde, Denmark. At full capacity it could carry ~100 warriors.
