The *sole* value of conservatism is respect for and obedience to [one’s perception of] traditionally established hierarchy, and hierarchy dictates that those on top (in-groups) are rightfully idolized and receive privileges, credibility, and resources, while those on the bottom (out-groups) are demonized/dehumanized and bound by restrictions, scrutiny, and lack of resources.

To them, the second-greatest injustice imaginable is for those [they perceive to be] on the bottom [of social hierarchy] to have access to the rights, credibility, and resources reserved for those on top. The first greatest injustice is for those on top to be bound by the restrictions, scrutiny, and lack of resources reserved for those on the bottom.

“Know your place” is their mantra.

Tan suit criticism was so stupid.

However, criticism that he sold us out to the bankers is 💯

    3. “What can we accuse him of that we don’t do ourselves? MUSTARD!”

Remember, this was before projection became the P in GOP.

    4. Obama was boring and mid, like most US presidents for most of history.

Can’t quite figure out what about him makes certain people think his election was the downfall of America?

    5. Or even just having the Saudis, the people behind 9/11, fund your golf tournaments. The right would go insane if “Barrack Hussein Obama” did that.

    6. What about the “Muslim prayer curtain” that always gets forgotten in the stupid shit they tried to drag on him

    7. mindless_blaze on

Because Dijon isn’t AmUrrIcaN, and he should prefer dollar store Heinz instead.

    8. Great is crazy. No one I call great drone strikes children.
Def not the worst at least so at least he had that

    9. It’s not just MAGA that trashed Obama.

Ask any progressive what they think about Obama. They HATE him. Say he’s a warmonger who didn’t change anything.

He had to face so much unearned disrespect.

    10. The Dijon shit was bc they’re racists. Meanwhile Obama drone striking us citizens.

    11. TheLastCoagulant on

I’m gonna pre-emptively support Obama’s drone strikes because the Russian propagandized folks are about to show up and talk about drone strikes.

Obama always opposed the Iraq war. Obama withdrew all troops from Iraq in 2011. 100% of US troops were withdrawn. Every last one. Which is what every leftist wanted him to do. The resulting power vacuum allowed ISIS to rise and take over 40% of Iraq and 33% of Syria. Obama’s options were:

      A) Send US troops (Absolutely nobody wanted this).

      B) Allow ISIS to butcher and enslave tons of people unopposed.

      C) Use drone strikes to reduce ISIS territory by 98% in 3 years.

ISIS violence was worse than you think:

ISIS was actively gaining new territory right before the US got involved.

Furthermore the Iraqi government made a public plea for US airstrikes against ISIS. It was the right thing to do. The problem of ISIS was created by the US invasion and withdrawal. Answering the IRAQI call for US airstrikes after Bush created the issue the Iraqis were dealing with, was the right thing to do.

    12. The venn diagram of people who are currently cheering on the guy who doesn’t believe in vaccines to “make America healthy again” and the people who absolutely lost their fucking minds that time Michelle tried to improve the nutritional content of school lunches… that venn diagram is just a circle.

Conservatives respect traditional aspects of things so much, they see it as a form of disrespect if done otherwise.

That’s why when the Ukraine leader came to the White House, he was “clowned” twice about why he wasn’t wearing a suit. They see it as some form of legitimacy and value in their white space

    14. That’s cuz it wasn’t about the color of his suit, but the color of his skin

    15. You don’t understand it because there was never anything of substance to it. Obama did a thing (anything, really), and they worked themselves into screaming fits over it. Rinse, and repeat.

    16. The worst part about all this; The more unhinged Republicans act, the more rose-tinted everyone looks at the past, and that’s why they keep accepting less and less.

    17. Current_Focus2668 on

I feel like America squandred a lot of the goodwill it had globally when Obama was first elected. If Republicans were not so determined to sabotage Obama the United States really could of accomplished so much more over his terms.

International powers were handing Obama a noble peace prize and on board his post dubya Bush hopeful change message. It is wild to think of how much international political capital America had at that period.

    18. Terrible-Growth-3679 on

People need to stop the Obama praise he did nothing for blacks in America or abroad

    19. Imagine if Obama had a crypto grift paying him hundreds of millions of actual U.S. dollars whether the crypto does well or not because of the exorbitant transaction fee that goes directly into Trump’s pocket.

    20. The only thing worse than tan suit criticism is bringing it up once a week

Obama did a lot of not so great stuff

    21. BeautyDuwang on

I also think non Americans and american liberals (and conservatives tbf) collectively forgot how many drone strikes he ordered during his presidency because holy shit man.

Better than trump but I struggle to call him a great man after hearing about how children in the middle east were afraid of the sky because you could never tell when a drone was about to bomb your city.

    22. sofahkingsick on

Maga americans dont know how great of a president Obama was. The rest of us do.

    23. Aggressive_Sound on

It was to distract. It was 2009 and while you were all successfully being distracted by “dijon mustard”, it meant you didn’t stand up strong enough for the ACA, you didn’t make the most of the Democrats  strong position, you weren’t paying attention while the corporations who caused the recession the year before got back to the business of fleecing everyone. You all relaxed and took your eyes off the real news.

    24. IAMTHEROLLINSNOW on

      Obama was complicated

He did a lot of great things in terms of foreign relations, obamacare did help a lot of people get health insurance, his allyship of gay rights helped make a lot of progress in terms of legislation during his presidency

But then theres the drone program and also his increase of deportations, with his biggest sin being bailing out the banks in 09 , thereby also continuing the growing divide in income inequality

im saying basically that Obama was relatively a respectable president , but he also did a lot of awful things , like most presidents not named Lincoln

    25. SplendidPunkinButter on

False. MAGAs wanted to drag Obama through the streets because he was a Democrat and a black man, in that order. Any other reasons they mentioned were just rationalizations.

It does seem like “black man” would be first on that list, but MAGA loves their token loyalists

    26. ILikeMyGrassBlue on

The suit and mustard thing are blown completely out of proportion, not that they aren’t ridiculous. It was two Fox hosts who brought it up, and it didn’t even really get picked up on by the broader conservative base.

Go talk to a Republican and ask them about “the Dijon scandal” or “the tan suit” scandal. They probably have no idea what you’re talking about. Dems gave this more attention than they did.

That said, Obama did break all of their brains, and it was crazy anyone at all tried to make either of those a thing.

    27. Shingorillaz on

Obama wasn’t a great president he was a status quo president, which relative to Trump is great, I suppose.

    28. Falchion_Alpha on

I don’t think *maga* knew how great of a president Barack Obama was

    29. Maturing is realizing that Obama continued the Clinton-era neoliberal policies & the Bush-era surveillance/war-time policies.

He bailed out the banks. He failed on most progressive/leftist policies.

His presidency sparked the shift on the right to more blatant racism & bigotry. The Dems continued to fail the voter bases.

    30. sackopotatoes on

I agree with this, and I think most Americans haven’t really processed what a stupid fucking idea it is to have a president in the first place.

No single person can possibly work hard enough to understand all the issues of a global superpower and make informed decisions, but I believe many people think that’s possible because all of their lives they’ve been told the only way to succeed is on their own.

Obama was probably the best president of all time. That bar is so low it’s in the core of the earth. He’s a politician: he was never going to be able to save us. The only chance poor folks have is if we organize.

    31. Chequered_Career on

And now they sell Dijon at Costco. If that doesn’t prove that it was a Communist-Arabic-French plot all along, I don’t know what would convince y’all.
