They are all so dumb and assume we are as dumb as they are. Money is just one of many many reasons people aren’t having children. We really got to idiocracy fast than I ever could have anticipated

A one time check for 5,000 bucks for having a fucking child in 2025? Are you high!?

      That is bananas.

I mean while anyone with a half a brain would not take the deal americans are not really that smart and i bet tons of people would try to get the money for that new sick ATV.

    4. It might incentivize moms who don’t need to work and pay for daycare…like MAGA tradwives.

Shut it down ladies. Hold fast. This is the opening bid. Wait. They’ll go higher. We have the power and the baby boxes. Hold. Hold.

I had 2 kids in daycare at once. I paid more for daycare that year than I paid for my mortgage.

They want you to make more babies because in order for a Ponzi scheme to work, you need a constant supply of desperate and poorly educated people at the bottom of the pyramid scheme.

    8. In Canada, we pay $10 bucks a day, on average. Just saying.

Also, all the shit you’ve heard about our health care. Not true.

You know what’s sad? $5k won’t even cover your deductible just to give birth.

    10. Anybody who has a child just to get $5,000 from the government isn’t the kind of person who should be raising children. Just sayin’.

    11. It probably costs more than $5000 just in hospital bills to give birth. Yeah, sure, that’ll help but I doubt it’ll tilt the balance.

Society is filled with morons. Tons will have a baby to get the 5k and then spend it on a shopping spree at the mall.

    13. When my daughter was born I had terrible health insurance that didn’t pay unless the bill was over $7,500. We had zero complications with the baby and mother. Our hospital bill was just over $7,000! and that was years ago.

    14. “How about you give existing and perspective parents better healthcare, reduce costs associated with raising a family, childcare benefits, and a whole host of other QOL improvements?”

“Best we can do is a one time payment for 1/100th of what it costs to raise a child to adulthood and classes on your menstrual cycle which you can find with a 5 minute google search. We’ll even throw in some medals.”

      What a fucking joke.

    15. Other countries have done better versions of this and it doesn’t move the needle much if at all. I wouldn’t bet on a baby boom.
