In 2016, a 9th century CE ceremonial drinking vessel, the Komkom Vase, was discovered at the archaeological site of Baking Pot in Belize. It contains a long Mayan inscription which describes a war between the King of Komkom, allied with the city of Naranjo, and the nearby city of Yaxha [1200×1852]
