They mean that if a husband wants 9, and she wants 1, he’s fuck out of luck. And I agree. The person taking all the physical risk, and dealing with all the physical pain, should ABSOLUTELY be the one who decides where the limits are. If she wants to abort, that’s her decision. He can talk to her about it, but she has the final say. If he wants a third kid, but she’s done, that’s her decision, and he’s just going to have to live with it. Women are not baby factories.

I think the point is that if the husband wants children and the wife doesn’t, then the wife has the last word. And I think that’s quite fair. After all, in the end it will be the wife who needs to give birth to the child, not the husband.
