This gold and enamel ring was made in Italy in the 17th-century. Diamonds are set in the skull’s eye sockets and nose, and in the crossbones. Memento mori rings – from the Latin ‘remember that you must die’ – were intended to remind the wearer of the brevity of life. (760×615)

Love this piece.
Skull ring.
Death ring.
Reaper ring.
They had an order of skull and bones back then too?
What was the ‘bone’ layer on the gold made of?
You’re in the bone zone.
Didn’t know they put it even on rings.
