Fun fact: young actors who act in college plays (certain colleges/unis) are sometimes adjudicated by a ‘critic’ who shares notes with the cast and director after a given performance. Actors who give stand-out performances in those shows received an “Irene Ryan nomination”, which is an invitation to compete against other actors at different schools, regionally and then nationally. It’s a really cool way to encourage promising young artists.
